Maren Schriver returns to the Walnut mainstage as an impatient princess in Shrek the Musical - playing now through January 5.

Based on the DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical is the story of a reclusive ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Complete with new songs and an outrageous cast of fairytale characters, this hilarious musical is entertainment for children and adults alike.

Maren Schriver is a student at Rydal Elementary who lives in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania. As Young Fiona, Maren shares the Walnut stage with the grown-up version of the princess, played by Broadway actress Julia Udine of Phantom of the Opera fame. Shrek The Musical is Maren’s second production at the Walnut, having appeared on stage last holiday season in Matilda as a member of the ensemble and an understudy for the title role. This season Maren was offered the role of Matilda in another production of the musical, as well as Small Alison in Fun Home, but said her heart led her back to the Walnut thanks to the amazing staff and audiences. When she is not dancing or singing on stage, Maren can be found playing soccer. Maren is also recording a pop album with her dad and sisters, Wallis and Soleil.
