On 20th Anniversary Of Jerry Garcia's Death, Ardmore Music Hall Hosts Tribute Band

The Ardmore Music Hall will host a series of shows by Grateful Dead tribute band Splintered Sunlight, starting tomorrow.

This week, marking the 20th anniversary of Jerry Garcia’s death, the Ardmore Music Hall will be hosting a series of shows by Grateful Dead tribute band Splintered Sunlight, starting tomorrow night and running each week until the end of the month.

Thursday’s 21-and-over show is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., with opening band The Brummy Brothers. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $12 the day of the show.

Formed in 1992, Splintered Sunlight has a repertoire of more than 200 songs, spanning the Dead’s 30-year history. Members of the tribute band have performed with Grateful Dead members including Bob Weir, Donna Jean Godchaux and pianist Tom Constanten. They have also performed with longtime Grateful Dead collaborator Merle Saunders and Jimmy Herring, recent guitarist for the Dead. In addition, Splintered has shared the stage with many notable Dead related acts including Kingfish, Jorma Kaukonen and Jefferson Starship.

Splintered Sunlight are also scheduled to play the Ardmore Music Hall on Friday, Aug. 21, and with special guest Bobby Paltauf on Thursday, Aug. 27.
