9th Annual Run for Our Schools To Benefit Lower Merion Schools

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Save the date for Sunday, Oct. 21, because the Education Foundation of Lower Merion is hosting its ninth annual Run for Our Schools 5K Run, 1.5 Mile Walk, and Kids' "Track Trot."

In addition to the running and walking, the event will feature a fitness fair and various area vendors.

Check in for the event will be held from 7:45 a.m. 8:30 a.m. on race day, but participants can pick up their bibs and get a pre-race shirt Lower Merion High School the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 20. Participants can also register at the Oct. 20 event. A time has yet to be set for Saturday's pre-race event.

The 5K begins at 9 a.m. and the route is an out-and-back course that starts and ends at the Harriton High School track.

Age categories for the 5K are:

• 9 years and under
• 10-11,
• 12-14
• 15-19
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60 and up

Bryn Mawr Racing Company will time the race.

Participants can run as a family, a team for your school, or as individuals.

Registration for the 5K costs $25 up until Oct. 18 when they increase.

The 1.5 mile walk will be held on the Harriton track from 9:05 a.m. to 10 a.m. Registration costs $25 and the prices go up on Oct. 18, as well.

And the Kids' Track Trot dash will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on the track. It costs just $10 for kids 6 and under to participate.

Family registration costs $70 and must be done online. Family can be up to 5 members of the same household.

Walk-up registration will be on the morning of the event starting at 7:45 a.m.
