Lower Merion Among Nation's Best Retirement Towns, Money Mag Says
From the outdoor spaces to the healthcare options, Money Magazine says Lower Merion Township is one of the best places to retire in the U.S.
LOWER MERION, PA — Lower Merion Township has many great qualities. Strong schools, booming dining and shopping industries, beautiful outdoor spaces, its proximity to Philadelphia, and more make it a coveted place to live.
And Lower Merion's highlights caught the eye of Money Magazine, which featured the township on its list of "The 10 Best Places to Retire in America."
Money looked at roughly 47,500 data points and considered factors such as housing, climate, diversity and safety to create its list.

And with all factors considered, Lower Merion Township came in at No. 3 on the list.
Money listed the township's healthcare facilities, its plentiful indoor entertainment options thanks to its proximity to Philadelphia, numerous outdoor spaces such as the Cynwyd Heritage trail and the Barnes Arboretum, and the Center For Positive Aging in Lower Merion as reasons why it's a great place to retire.

One hang up mentioned, however, is the median home price.
With a $500,000 media price, Lower Merion has the highest of all town's on the list.
