Lower Merion Hosting 2 Clean-Up Weekends In July
Get rid of appliances, trash, recyclables, and more at the two upcoming clean-up weekends in Lower Merion Township.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Residents in Lower Merion Township can do some summer cleaning soon during two clean-up weekends in July.
The township is holding clean-up weekends Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, as well as Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26.
All four clean-up weekend events will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lower Merion Transfer Station, 1300 N. Woodbine Ave. in Penn Valley.

Items that can be disposed of during the clean-up weekends are trash, recyclables, household appliances, textiles, plastics, glass, newsprint, aluminum, and hardened latex-based paint. Televisions, oil-based paints, construction materials, and hazardous waste will not be accepted.
Recyclable materials must be separated from other household trash.

Masks and social distancing are required to enter the transfer station. Township staff will not be available to unload items in order to adhere to distancing requirements and for the safety of residents and township staff.
The Transfer Station will resume regular hours and no longer require appointments starting Saturday, June 27. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays.
Recycling and tree brush drop off are at no cost and trash is 10 cents per pound for Lower Merion residents. Proof of residency required.
Bulk/special collection pick up has resumed on Thursdays and will continue with restrictions.
Payment will be by mail only and staff will not enter residents’ home to assess items to be collected. Residents are required to send photos of those items to staff for pricing and pre-payment.
