LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The snow emergency in Lower Merion Township has been lifted.

Officials enacted the emergency at 6 a.m. Thursday and announced it was lifted at 9 a.m. Friday.

While the emergency declaration is no longer in place, drivers are urged to stay off roadways, if possible. Public Works crews will continue snow clean-up operations through the day.

Residents are reminded that sidewalks must be cleared, 36 inches in width, within 24 hours of the end of snowfall and also remember that it is illegal to throw or plow snow into the street.

When removing snow, residents are asked to clear corner sidewalk ramps to the street and clear snow from around fire hydrants.

Thursday's trash and recycling collections will be picked up Friday, and Friday collections will be picked up Saturday. Residents with rear yard and alley collection should bring cans curbside to be collected. Any missed trash will be picked up next week and can limits will be relaxed.
