Lower Merion Partially Opens Fields, Ashburn Field Remains Closed
You can use the fields, but only the grassy areas for now, officials said Thursday. Richie Ashburn Field is still closed, however.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Lower Merion Parks and Recreation officials have opened the grassy areas of its playing fields.
The township said those using the fields should follow field guidelines and use judgement when on the fields.
All grassy areas of the fields are open, however Richie Ashburn Field is still closed due to over saturation.

The township's fields are:
- Bala Cynwyd Park
- Gladwyne Park
- General Wayne Park
- McMoran Park
- Penn Wynne Park
- Polo Field
- Richie Ashburn Field
- South Ardmore Park
- Vernon V. Young Memorial Park
