'Mare Of Easttown' Day Planned At New Delco Wawa Opening
The day will be marked with the debut of a new spicy cheesesteak called the "Mare of Easttown Spicy Cheesesteak" and freebies for customers.

UPPER DARBY, PA — The "Mare of Easttown" craze hasn't died down yet, as the "mythical" Wawa is holding a "Mare of Easttown" day at a new Delaware County store's opening Thursday.
The new Wawa, located at 418 W. Baltimore Pike in Upper Darby, is slated to open at 8 a.m. Thursday and the event will be "Mare of Easttown" themed.
The first 100 customers in line will be given a free "Wawa Delco" T-shirt. Free coffee will also be offered at the event.

Chester County Detective Christine Bleiler will be at the store Thursday ordering the new, limited cheesesteak. Other area law enforcement, firefighters, and healthcare workers will also attend the event. Wawa will host its signature "Hoagies for Heroes" hoagie-building competition and give a $1,000 check to each department’s charity of choice.
The new steak will be available at all Delaware County Wawa stores from June 10 to June 17.
Wawa said the steak — which features beefsteak, spicy pepper relish, and cheddar cheese sauce — is a "nod to how spicy the show is."
Wawa is also making a $10,000 contribution to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia's Healthy Kids, Healthy Minds program on account of the show's focus on mental health issues.
The contribution will fund a web series designed to educate families and caregivers on how to identify behavioral health concerns in children from preschool age through college age.
"We are honored to be featured in local creator’s Brad Ingelsby’s HBO show, Mare of Easttown, that kept you on the edge of your seat week-after-week and made Delaware County, including Wawa, proud," said Cathy Pulos, Chief Operations Officer, Store Operations and Delco native. "We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate then bringing our local friends and neighbors to our quite timely Delco store opening to enjoy the specialty hoagie, talk about the show and of course give back to the leading pediatric institute, CHOP."
