Montco Politicians to Greet Pope Saturday
Josh Shapiro, Liz Rogan and Bishop Timothy Senior will greet Francis on Saturday

Two political leaders and one Catholic bishop will be the first to great Pope Francis when he arrives at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Lower Merion on Saturday, where the Pontiff will sleep during his visit to the area.
Montgomery County Commissioner Chair Josh Shapiro, Lower Merion Board of Commissioners Chairman Liz Rogan and Bishop Timothy C. Senior, rector of St. Charles, will great Francis early Saturday morning.
“I am deeply honored to be able to welcome the Holy Father on behalf of the 810,000 residents of Montgomery County,” Shapiro said in a statement to the press.

“This is an honor for Montgomery County to serve as the Pope’s home away from Rome while he is in Philadelphia.”
Shapiro will present a framed scroll, created by the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board, to the Pope.
