New Program To Keep Main Line Kids Fed For Free During Summer

Some students don't eat enough when school is out in the summer, but this pilot program will help those kids stay fed free of charge.

ARDMORE, PA – When school lets out for summer, some students go hungry during the day as schools are not open to provide lunch. But a Main Line church is hosting a free summer feeding program to curb summer hunger.

Ardmore Presbyterian Church is hosting the Lower Merion Summer Cafe, a new pilot program to prevent kids from going hungry in the summer.

The program is open to all kids 18 and under.

All they have to do is go to the church between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on the below dates this summer for a meal that is free of charge.

  • Monday, June 18; Tuesday, June 19; Wednesday, June 20
  • Monday, June 25; Tuesday, June 26 Wednesday, June 27
  • Monday, July 2; Tuesday, July 3

Those who go to get lunch can enjoy games, as well.

Lower Merion Summer Cafe is headed up by various local faith leaders, as well as Narberth Community Food Bank officials.
