Snow Emergency Lifted In Lower Merion Township
Residents are still urged to stay off roads due to potentially icy conditions and to clear 36 inches of sidewalk 24 hours after snow stops.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — After more than 48 hours, Lower Merion Township has lifted its snow emergency declaration.
Officials ended the snow emergency at 6 p.m. Tuesday after putting it into effect at 5 p.m. Sunday as a nor'easter bore down on the Philadelphia region.
Despite the emergency being lifted, resident are urge to stay off roadways due to icy conditions expected overnight as temperatures drop.

Public Works crews will continue snow clean-up operations into Wednesday.
Thirty-six inches of sidewalks must within 24 hours of the end of snowfall. Residents are reminded that throwing or plowing snow into the street is illegal and are asked to clear corner sidewalk ramps to the street and clear snow from around fire hydrants to help our neighbors and for fire safety.

Trash and recycling collections will resume Wednesday, but will be one day behind schedule. All materials should be set curbside for collections. The township recommended residents with rear yard collection trash and recycling curbside. Missed collections from this week will be made up next week and volume restrictions will be relaxed.
