Ada Mutch, of Bryn Mawr, Dies at 106

Mutch was Baldwin School's oldest living alumna.

Ada Mutch, the namesake of 's Ada Mutch Community Resource Center, died in her sleep at this weekend, two weeks before her 107th birthday, according to the Main Line Times.

Mutch moved from Scotland to Bryn Mawr in 1912 and graduated from the  in 1922. Mutch was Baldwin's oldest living alumna.

She served in World War II from 1942 to 1946 with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Mutch also worked at Lankenau Hospital for 15 years before her retirement in 1970, according to the Main Line Times.

Mutch was honored in 2010 with Baldwin's White Blazer award, which is now given to the graduating senior voted best all-around athlete by her peers. Mutch received an equivalent "Gym Prize" when she graduated in 1922, according to Baldwin.

A memorial service will be held for Mutch at 11 a.m. Feb. 11 at .
