Art Show and More Ahead Tuesday
Happy Tuesday, Bryn Mawr. Today we launch a new daily feature to help you start each day

Tuesday, most reasonable people agree, is the worst day of the week. While Monday is technically furthest from the weekend, the sense of distance is partly softened by novelty; when you haven't been at work for a bit, it's not so terrible to go back. It almost feels new. Work? Alright, I haven't had to do that in a little. By Tuesday the sheen is gone, in its place a gnawing realization that you still have four days left—four Kilimanjaros to scale—before you'll get a minute to try and catch your breath, put your tired feet up, only to be forced back into the fray, semi-asphyxiated, just before you do. You could run for it, but there's nothing but desert in all directions. It's Tuesday.Â
Today we're happy to  present a new daily feature at Patch where we'll give you a few things you need to know to jump start your day. If we missed anything, let us know in the comments below.Â
- Government: The Lower Merion Historical Architectural Review Board, Water Resource Conservation Element Committee, and Environmental Advisory Council are meeting Tuesday. For more information on each meeting, click the germane link.
- Fun: The Main Line Art Center is presenting an exhibition from a trio of local artists. Starting at 7 p.m. at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Linda Dubin Garfield, Mary Kane, and Rona Satten will become the most recent stars of the center's Exhibitions in the Community program.
- Traffic: Check out the PennDOT traffic cameras and steel yourself for your commute. Traffic will probably be terrible—it's traffic, not cherry pie—but the devil you know is, we suppose, better than the devil you don't.
- Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach the 80s with a high likelihood of rain. Things are expected to cool down in the evening, with thunderstorms early.Â
- History: Per the History Chanel, on this day in 1984, Vanessa Williams was forced to relinquish her Miss America title after Penthouse magazine announced that it would publish nude pictures of the beauty queen in an upcoming issue. Sort of a slow day in history, turns out.Â
