Former Eagles Player Ken Dunek Speaking In Bryn Mawr Dec. 27

Dunek – now an author, publisher, and producer – will discuss his move from sports to his new career as an independent media entrepreneur.

BRYN MAWR, PA – As Bryn Mawr's Yangming continues its "Tasty Talks Luncheon Series," the next installment welcomes a former Philadelphia Eagles player who made the move from playing sports to the worlds of publishing, writing, producing films, and analyzing sports.

Former Eagles' player Ken Dunek will speak at Yangming on Wednesday, Dec. 27 in the fourth installment of the lunch talk series.

The talk will begin at 12:30 p.m. and costs just $20 to attend when buying tickets in advance. Same-day tickets will cost $25, but tickets are likely to sell out.

All profits from this Tasty Talk will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity that provides home-away-from-home comforts for families with young children in need of hospital care.

The lunch will feature passed hors d'oeuvres, an entrée course, and a dessert course.

Dunek, who was the Eagles' tight end in the 1980 season, now JerseyMan and PhillyMan magazines, is the Executive Producer of a feature film about a teammate on the Philadelphia Star called "Field Mouse," and the author of "An Improbable Journey," which is about pro athletes at work and play.

Dunek will share his point-of-view during the talk, with a focus on his successful transition from sports to a lucrative career as an independent media entrepreneur.

Dunek’s passion for sports earned him a full scholarship to Memphis State University, where in 1979, he played both basketball and football for the MSU Tigers.

The following year, Dunek the Eagles and received an NFC Championship ring. He was briefly a member of the Baltimore Colts, and played in the Hall of Fame game against the Vikings before signing with the New York Giants. Dunek finished his pro football career with USFL Champion Philadelphia Stars. In their 1984 and 1985 seasons, He set a record of 11 receptions for 109 yards against Reggie White and the Memphis Showboats, winning two more championship rings.

Now, Dunek is a college football analyst for ESPN and has appeared on Fox News’ Real World, Sports Talk Live on Comcast SportsNet, and CBS 3 Talk Philly.
