Gladwyne Field Hockey Star Headed To Saint Joseph's University

The university recently featured the Harriton senior, who will play two sports at the Division 1 level for Saint Joseph's University.

GLADWYNE, PA -- A Harriton High School field hockey star is headed to Saint Joseph's University, where she will compete at the NCAA Division 1 level for the Hawks.

Laura Lasprogata, a standout goalkeeper for Harriton who has been named to several All-Area teams in the last two years, holds the Harriton school record for saves in a game with 36, according to an SJU news release.

“Saint Joseph’s is a great academic fit, with all the programs and support available, along with the atmosphere of the student body,” she said in the release.

Lasprogata's resume also includes three National Indoor Tournament pool championships with the WC Eagles. She has also received accolades as an All-Area lacrosse player at Harriton, and will join the Hawks lacrosse team beginning in 2017, SJU said.

“Laura is an explosive and talented local athlete that we’re thrilled to keep at home,” head coach Lynn Farquhar said, according to SJU. “A two-sport athlete, Laura will be competing for the Hawks in goal during the fall field hockey season and will transition to the field for women’s lacrosse in the spring.”
