Gladwyne Native Earns Lacrosse All-American Honors

Connor Keating earned an "Honorable Mention All-America" selection from Inside Lacrosse, according to the University of Pennsylvania.

GLADWYNE, PA – A Gladwyne native and University of Pennsylvania lacrosse player has earned high praise for his work on the lacrosse field for Penn.

Connor Keating, of Gladwyne and a Haverford School grad, was named an Honorable Mention All-America selection by Inside Lacrosse, according to Penn.

Keating earned the honor after the regular lacrosse season ended and as the NCAA tournament's first round games begin.

"Keating adds the all-America laurels along with being named a First-Team All-Ivy honoree for the second-straight year," Penn's website say of Keating. "Regarded as one of the best long stick middle players’s in the country, Keating entered the season as a Tewaaraton Award Watch List member and lived up to the billing as one of the top scoring long-poles in the country with 10 goals and two assists for 13 points this season while scoring in eight of the Quakers 12 games. Keating led the Red and Blue with a team-high 57 ground balls and added four caused turnovers for the season."

This is the first all-America list compiled by Inside Lacrosse, according to Penn.

Players are voted upon by the 30 members of the lacrosse media who vote in the weekly Maverik Media Poll.

The Quakers concluded their season with a 7-6 overall record and 3-3 record in Ivy League play.

Penn entered the Ivy League Tournament as the No. 4 seed and fell in quadruple overtime to Yale, 13-12, who earned the NCAA bid following their win of the conference tournament.
