Lower Merion Native Wendell Holland Wins 'Survivor: Ghost Island'
Wendell Holland, a son of the Lower Merion, is $1 million richer by winning the "Survivor: Ghost Island" reality show competition Wednesday.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – The Lower Merion area has many reasons to be proud of the people it produces.
And another reason can be added to the list as Ardmore native and Harriton High School grad Wendell Holland won $1 million dollars by coming out on top in "Survivor: Ghost Island" Wednesday, May 23.
Holland, 33, now a Philadelphian and a UPenn alum, won in a special tribal council ceremony on the CBS program's 36th season.

He teamed up with Cherry Hill, New Jersey resident Laurel Johnson along the way to his win. Johnson finished third in the realty show competition.
Wendell won thanks to the tie-breaking vote cast by Johnson, keeping the Philly-area love alive on the show.

Holland is the owner of Phill-based furniture company Beve Unlimited.
As for the $1 million? No self respecting Main Line native would blow it: Holland told Entertainment Weekly that he will "invest it or save it and let it work for me."
