Rabid Raccoon Found In Gladwyne, Montgomery County Officials Say

Montgomery County sent out an alert regarding a raccoon that tested positive for rabies in Gladwyne recently.

GLADWYNE, PA — Montgomery County officials said a raccoon found in Gladwyne tested positive for rabies recently.

According to the county, the raccoon tested positive for rabies on May 18.

The raccoon was found on the 1500 block of Monk Road in Gladwyne.

Officials said anyone who may have been bitten, scratched or exposed to saliva by a raccoon must get medical attention as soon as possible.

Anyone and any pets who had contact with a raccoon or any stray or wild animal should call the Division of Communicable Disease Control with the Montgomery County Office of Public at 610-278-5117.
