This Friday, It's First Friday

Happy Friday, Bryn Mawr. Here's a quick look at the day ahead.

TGIF. Obnoxious, as far as acronyms go, but doubtless true. Here's a look at what's ahead today, Friday, August 2, 2013.

  • Fun: First Friday Main Line is, again, coming to Lancaster Avenue. This week's event, which runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., celebrates local photography and will feature live music from 'Everyday People.' Swing by the FFML website to get more information on what promises to be a great night.
  • Traffic: Check out the PennDOT traffic cameras to get a beat on how traffic looks this morning. A prediction: not great.
  • Weather: No rain today. The forecast calls for sunshine with highs in the low 80s. Temperatures should dip into the high 60s overnight.
  • History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait, gaining control of 20 percent of the world's oil reserves. A week later, the United States responded with Operation Desert Shield, then five months after that with Operation Desert Storm.
