Van Crashes into Bryn Mawr Consignment Shop, Causes Gas Leak
The leak was contained on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after the accident.
A substantial gas leak occurred in Bryn Mawr on Tuesday afternoon after a van crashed into a consignment shop near Bryn Mawr Hospital.
According to a Lower Merion Police officer, sometime before 2:20 p.m. a maroon Ford E250 was driven into the east side of Great Estate Consignment Shop, located on the corner of County Line Road and Haverford Road.
The impact severed a PECO line, which caused a leak that, according to a Radnor police officer on the scene, was resolved by 2:45 p.m. Another officer added that although the immediate threat had been dealt with, PECO repairs to address the full extent of the damage would be ongoing.
