2 Philly Cops Hurt After Gun Battle With Cyclist

EAST MOUNT AIRY — Police in Philadelphia are looking for a man who exchanged gunfire with three officers. A $10,000 reward is offered in the case.

According to police, Jeffione Thomas, 28, is wanted in connection of an attempted murder of three of police officers.

NBC10 reports Thomas was on a bicycle at about 8 p.m. Friday on the 1400 block of Sharpnack Street in East Mount Airy, when he pulled up to an unmarked police car, took out a gun, and started shooting.

Police fired back and a second gunman started shooting at police, Fox 29 reports.

Two of the officers were hurt but released from the hospital Saturday.

Thomas is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds with a last known address on the 7800 block of Fayette Street.

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of gunmen.
