Chestnut Hill College Volleyball Team Earns Academic Honor
The team also raised more than $1,500 for breast cancer research. Amazing job, ladies!

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA – The Chestnut Hill College Volleyball Team recently earned a national award for its strength on the court and in the classroom, the college announced. The women on the team were honored with the 2016-2017 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.
Not only did they win the academic award, they raised at least $1,500 for the Side-Out Foundation Dig Pink campaign for breast cancer research.
Regarding the academic award, the team was one of 118 NCAA Division II institutions to earn the award and one one of only 14 NCAA DII teams to reach the Side-Out Foundation fundraising goal.

To earn the academic award, the team had to maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale, or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
For the 2016-2017 season, the Side-Out Foundation Dig Pink campaign participants raised a combined $91,671 for breast cancer research. Over 1,000 different schools have earned the award in the program's 25-year history, with exactly 8,461 individual team awards presented.
