Cub Scouts –What’s In It For Your Child?

All boys grades K thru 5

Cub Scouting offers boys, grades K-5 opportunities to broaden their knowledge base by exploring the outdoors, being civic minded and participating in a wide array of fun activities.

The highpoints of the Scouting year for many boys are the twice annual overnight camping trips that are action packed with BB gun and archery range shooting, hiking, and of course, roasting marshmallows over a roaring fire. Another beloved event is the Pinewood Derby when boys, along with a parent, build and race a wooden car for prizes on a timed track. Throughout the year, all Scouts play a part in community service projects and Pack fund raisers. Add in two meetings a month filled with games and entertaining demonstrations and you’ve got Cub Scout Pack 173 in Flourtown. www.pack173.net/

Interested in learning more? Come to the Pack picnic on June 16th at 5pm at Fort Washington Day use area on Mill Rd. in Flourtown or contact Ellie Smith at den4mom@gmail.com or Ed Grivner (Mister Ed) at egrivner@comcast.net.
