Mt Airy Spot Among 'Coolest Ice Cream Shops,' Philly Mag Says

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – It's not technically summer yet (we've got about a month to go until we can officially welcome it), but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy summer fun and treats, most notably ice cream. And one Mt. airy ice cream shops was recently listed among the best in the Philly area.

Philadelphia Magazine crafted a list of the "Coolest Ice Cream Shops In Philadelphia," and Mt. Airy's Trolley Car Ice Cream Shoppe made the cut.

Here's what Philly Mag says about Trolley Car:

Right next door to the Mt. Airy diner of the same name, ice cream is sold — right out of an actual trolley car. Just look for the 1948 green-and-buff old-style trolley, which serves water ice, soft serve, and scoops of Nelson’s ice cream, made in Royersford

The Trolley Car Ice Cream Shoppe is located at 7619 Germantown Ave. in Mt. Airy.

Twenty-two shops were featured on the list.
