Mt Airy Woman Named 'Community Quarterback' By Eagles, Santander
Mt. Airy's Marlene Trice has run a food pantry that serves about 700 families each week in the Philadelphia region for about 20 years.

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – A Mt. Airy woman who has spent years helping those in need was recently honored by the Eagles and Santander Bank for her dedication to the community.
Santander Bank and the Philadelphia Eagles teamed up to honor exceptional individuals who exemplify leadership, dedication and commitment to improving the communities where they live through the "Santander Community Quarterback" program.
Marlene Trice of Mt. Airy along with two other Philly-area residents were recognized for their incredible work in the community at Sunday’s Eagles game versus the Texans as honorees in the program’s second annual appreciation event. Throughout the season, 10 deserving winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of Santander and Eagles representatives.

David Norton of Elkins Park and Linda Vataha of Doylestown were the two other honorees.
Inspired by her father’s commitment to handing out baskets of food to those in need during the holidays, Trice, 71, started the Kitchen of Love food pantry more than 20 years ago.

Trice's food pantry feeds more than 700 families each week throughout the Philadelphia region and strives to support the Philadelphia community with groceries, hot meals and nutritious food.
Kitchen of Love food pantry ensures everyone in the community has a place to eat year-round, and during the holiday season, the kitchen hosts toy donations to provide gifts to children in the community.
As a ‘Santander Community Quarterback’ honoree, Trice, Norton, and Vataha each received $500 for the local nonprofit organization of their choice and a VIP experience at the Eagles home game versus the Houston Texans, which included the chance to watch the game in the Santander Field Club, located in the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Eagles and Santander are committed to recognizing outstanding individuals and deeply respect the people who make the Greater Philadelphia region a better place. In addition to honoring the 10 deserving winners throughout the season, Santander and the Eagles offered fans the opportunity to vote for one of three finalists to be named the Top Community Quarterback.
The grand prize winner will receive an additional $10,000 to donate to a local nonprofit of his or her choice. The Top Community Quarterback will be announced in January 2019.
