October Health Inspections: Chestnut Hill-Mt. Airy

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health visited 10 establishments in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy in October. Here's what they found.

CHESTNUT HILL-MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Department of Public Health sent inspectors to 10 establishments in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for a round of inspections in October.

Of the 10, just two did not have any violations.

The establishment with the highest number of violations in October was the Tip Top Pizza, with 27 violations. Violations found in October included moldy cheese in the walk in refrigerator, pizza stored at lower-than-acceptable temperatures, holes in the toilet room wall, food employees not wearing or wearing ineffective hair and beard nets, bleach stored on the same shelf as oregano, and more.

  • Family Dollar Store #6929 – Oct. 28, seven violations; Oct. 19, seven violations
  • Mary's Learning Academy – Oct. 24, no violations
  • The Terrace At Chestnut Hill – Oct. 23, 20 violations
  • Jenks School – Oct. 20, seven violations
  • Blair Christian Academy – Oct. 19, four violations
  • Blair Christian Academy Daycare – Oct. 19, eight violations
  • Tip Top Pizza – Oct. 18, 27 violations
  • Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant – Oct. 12, 16 violations
  • Campbell's Place – Oct. 11, 18 violations
  • Louie's Little Hut – Oct. 3, no violations
