PA Health Officials Giving Out Free Naloxone Kits In Mt Airy
Naloxone, the opioid overdose reversing drug, will be free to residents as part of a state initiative to curb the number of overdoses.

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — In an ongoing effort to combat opioid overdoses, the Pennsylvania Department of Health is launching a statewide initiative to distribute the overdose-reversal medication naloxone.
Naloxone kits will be distributed for free at 95 locations, including at Lovett Memorial Library in Philadelphia's Mt. Airy neighborhood, as part of "Get Help Now Week."
From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, community members can get their free kits to help those suffering from the disease of opioid-use disorder.

Those who do get a kit are asked to take a selfie, post it on Facebook or Twitter and share why you carry naloxone. State officials are encouraging post to include #WhyICarryNaloxone.

To receive a certificate of completion for naloxone training, you must watch the video on TRAIN PA. You will not receive a certificate for watching on this page or on YouTube.
In Pennsylvania, the standing order signed by Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine allows anyone to get naloxone without a prescription. Completing the training on TRAIN PA and printing a certificate of completion will protect you legally as a Good Samaritan trying to help someone in need.
