Philadelphia Restaurant Named Among 100 ‘Most Scenic’ In US

The online reservation company OpenTable has released its 100 "most scenic" restaurants in the nation. A Rittenhouse eatery made the cut.

PHILADELPHIA — Diners looking for a restaurant with a view ought to look no further than Philadelphia's Rittenhouse area, home to one of the “most scenic” restaurants in the nation. That’s according to the online reservation company OpenTable, which published its list Thursday.

In Philadelphia, it was Parc that made the list.

The Rittenhouse Square restaurant is a French cuisine spot owned by James Beard winning restaurateur Stephen Starr.

OpenTable selected the restaurants based solely on diner reviews collected between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019. To qualify, restaurants had to meet a minimum overall score and attain a certain number of reviews for consideration. The overall score consists of unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user clout, total reviews and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the total number of tags for which "scenic views" was cited as a special feature.

Restaurants from 24 states and Washington, D.C. made the list, including famous venues such as Tavern on the Green in New York City. All offer “picturesque” views.

"We can't think of a better way to celebrate summer travel season than with this list of restaurants with some of the nation's most stunning vistas," Caroline Potter, the company’s chief dining officer, said in a news release. "Whether you're a local or a traveler, these winning spots are a terrific way to soak up a city's charms while dining on delicious fare."
