Police Seeking Gunmen In West Mt Airy Drive-By Shooting

Two vehicles pulled up alongside another vehicle and opened fired in West Mt. Airy earlier this week.

WEST MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia are asking for help as they investigate a shooting that injured several people this week.

According to police, a shooting occurred at about 6 p.m. on Monday on the 6500 block of Berdan Street in West Mt. Airy.

Two vehicles pulled up to the victims, who were sitting in a parked car, and started firing at them, police said.

Police said the victims were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.

The gunmen left the area in a newer burgundy Dodge Caravan mini-van with New York license plates on the front and back, as well as a newer blue-gray Volkswagen Tiguan SUV with the driver-side brake light out, police said.

The vehicles were last seen going south on Berdan Street then west on Weaver Street.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
