Recycling Collections Shift To Every Other Week In Philadelphia

The Streets Department will pick up recycling on regular days, but only every other week. Trash collection will go on normally as possible.

PHILADELPHIA — The Streets Department in Philadelphia has altered its recycling collection schedule due to the new coronavirus.

Effective Monday, the department will collect recycling every other week.

Residents should hold their recycling materials for the week of Monday, April 6 through Saturday, April 11. Recycling collections will resume on Monday, April 13 with every other week collections through May 15 or further.

Trash collection will go on or as close to its normal schedule as possible.

However, residents should expect some delays as the health crisis continues to have an impact on employee attendance. There will be no trash collections on Friday, April 10 in honor of the Good Friday holiday.

Recycling should be set out on normally scheduled days, but only on the weeks listed on the modified collection schedule below.

  • April 6 to April 11 — Trash Collections only
  • Friday, April 10 — No collections – Good Friday Holiday
  • April 13 to April 17 — Trash & Recycling Collections
  • April 20 to April 24 — Trash Collections only
  • April 27 to May 1 — Trash & Recycling Collections
  • May 4 to May 8 — Trash Collections only
  • May 11 to May 15 — Trash & Recycling Collections
