Remidner: Controller Candidates Debating Thursday In Chestnut Hill

The three candidates will debate at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy Thursday at 7 p.m.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA – Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Chestnut Hill is again hosting a debate between Philadelphia political candidates vying for office this year.

All three candidates for the City Controller position will head to the academy on Thursday April 27 for a debate sponsored by Chestnut Hill Local.

The debate is set for 7 p.m. at the school, which is located on 8000 Cherokee Ave., Philadelphia.

Incumbent Democrat Alan Butkovitz, challenging Democrat Rebecca Rhynhart, and lone Republican Mike Tomlinson will discuss issues in the city with Philadelphia Magazine Senior Writer Holly Otterbein moderating and Chestnut Hill Local Editor Pete Mazzaccaro joining her.

The primary election will be held May 16 and the general election Nov. 7
