SEPTA Makes Changes To Chestnut Hill Regional Rail Line
Six trains are cancelled on the Chestnut Hill East Line to allow crews to continue to perform overhead wire catenary replacement work.
CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA — Changes are hitting the Chestnut Hill East Regional Rail line this week, according to SEPTA.
SEPTA recently announced changes to some Regional Rail schedules — Chestnut Hill East included — last week.
Six trains are cancelled on the Chestnut Hill East Line.

This was done to allow crews to continue to perform overhead wire catenary replacement work.
The new Chestnut Hill East Line schedule also gives SEPTA the ability to deploy more resources to maintain and reconstruct the railroad right-of-way.

The Chestnut Hill West Line and Cynwyd Line will remain suspended, while all other Regional Rail schedules will remain in effect.
Below is the Chestnut Hill schedule:
Service Towards Center City
The following trains are canceled:
- Train#711 departing Chestnut Hill East Station at 9:57 a.m.
- Train #715 departing Chestnut Hill East Station at 11:57 a.m.
- Train #719 departing Chestnut Hill East Station at 2.:02 p.m.
Service Towards Chestnut Hill East
The following trains are Canceled
- Train #704 departing Suburban Station at 8:52 a.m.
- Train #708 departing Suburban Station at 10:52 a.m.
- Train #712 departing Suburban Station at 12: 44 p.m.
Train #718 currently departing Suburban Station at 3:49 p.m. will now depart 9 minutes LATER at 3:58 p.m. and 9 minutes later from all station stops arriving Chestnut Hill East at 4:38 p.m.

As of January 24, 2021, SEPTA will be operating 463 weekday trains and 218 weekend trains, which is approximately 57 percent of pre-pandemic Regional Rail service levels.
Ridership on Regional Rail is approximately 15 percent of pre-pandemic levels. Additional Regional Rail service changes are planned for March 2021.
