Delaware Valley Friends School in Paoli, Pennsylvania, welcomes Shannon Breuer to its Board of Trustees Shannon is the President and Chief Compliance Officer at the Wiley Group, a Registered Investment Advisory firm. Prior to joining Wiley Group, Shannon held leadership roles in Human Relations and Communications with Sunoco, Inc. and more recently with McKnight-Kaney-Breuer LLC, a Philadelphia-based consulting company helping leadership teams inspire employees through communication and alignment. In 2018 Shannon received the Philadelphia Irish Business Chamber’s Small Business Big Impact Award and was selected by SmartCEO Magazine as a BRAVA Award winner two years earlier. In addition, the Philadelphia Business Journal recognized Shannon as a Woman of Distinction in 2010. These honors recognize Shannon for her advocacy of accelerating business leadership through her affiliations with professional and community organizations. She is the Treasurer of The Forum for Executive Women and formerly served as their Engagement Committee Chair as well as a member of their Governance Committee. Shannon is also a member of the Women's Resource Center's Advisory Board, the Philadelphia Society of People and Strategy, and WCXO (Women Chief Executives) for which she led the Programming Committee in 2015. Shannon is a DVFS Alumni Parent whose son, Mac, was a member of the Class of 2012. She is looking forward to giving back to DV as a Trustee after seeing firsthand the impact of the school on her son. “The school has such an important mission and a wonderful culture and I want to support that," Shannon shares. When asked what she though the lasting value of a DV education is to our graduates and families, Shannon answered, "DV teaches students to believe in themselves. We are all different in so many ways, and when we respect, honor and understand these differences we have the best chance at leveraging them so that we can all thrive in our community. It feels good to discover how we can best contribute by using our own special gifts and talents.”
