Wednesday night’s game was a double elimination, so Taney will take on Chicago’s Jackie Robinson West at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night for one more shot at the U.S. final.

If Taney wins Thursday, they will play Las Vegas again on Saturday.

Pitching phenom Mo’ne Davis, 13, who this week made the cover of Sports Illustrated, left Wednesday’s game early, so that the team can bring her back on Saturday if they play. (Little League has strict pitch-count limits on its players.) Mo’ne pitched 2 1/3 innings, striking out six.

The Dragons Tweeted out Wednesday night: “Good game Vegas. We hope to see you Saturday. #Respect #BelieveInDragons.”

Respect indeed.
