Wissahickon Photo Contest Submissions Open Now

PHILADELPHIA – The biennial Wissahickon Photo Contest is underway and you can submit your photos now though mid October.

Friends of the Wissahickon is teaming up with the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, and,the Woodmere Art Museum to present the contest this year.

All photos entered in the contest must be taken within Wissahickon Valley Park, along the Green Ribbon Trail, or on one of the WVWA managed preserves. Participants may enter up to four photos taken within the last three years.

Winners will be announced October 29.

Submitted photographs will not be returned.

Photo categories are: people, wildlife, landscape, and structures.

Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, First Place in each category, and People’s Choice, for which winners will be chosen by Facebook voters.

Any of the three co-hosting organizations may feature the winning photos online, in their printed materials, or on social media.

Entries that do not comply with the rules will be disqualified.

Photos should be high resolution (at least 300 DPI) and in one of the following file formats: .tiff, .eps, .jpg, .png, or .gif.

File names should follow this format: "last name_category_submission number" or "last name_youth_category_submission number."

For example, a file should be named as such: smith_wildlife_1.jpg or smith_youth_wildlife_4.jpg.

The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2018.
