Cranberry Water Safe Despite Discoloration: Officials
Water has been discolored recently in parts of Cranberry..
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA —Water in the township remains safe for showering and drinking despite being discolored in recent days, township officials said Thursday. The discoloration was attributed to disturbances within the West View Water Authority system.
Reports of discolored water were made from customers along Dutilh Road, Knob Road and other areas in the southwestern portion of the township.
Residents are being asked to run their faucets and avoid doing laundry to allow the system to reset.

The disturbance was caused by a new water plant in the system increasing capacity this week, which stirred up sediment in water transmission lines. After identifying the problem, the Township chose to isolate the entire system from West View to limit the impact.
Lines have been flushed on Commonwealth Drive, and crews continue to spot flush other areas.
