Five Things to Know: Seneca Valley Homecoming, Zelienople Fall Festival, Sleepy Hollow

1. Seneca Valley School Board Meeting

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when Seneca Valley school officials meet at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Intermediate High School in Jackson Township.

2. Cranberry Planning Advisory Commission

Get the scoop on what developments are in the works for Cranberry. The commission meets at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building on Rochester Road.

3. Seneca Valley Homecoming Festivities

Seneca Valley’s Homecoming Carnival will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at the secondary campus in Jackson Township.

The event includes a parade, food, games, fireworks and more.

The Raiders will take on the North Hills Indians for the homecoming matchup at 7p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned during halftime at the game.

The dance will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. This year’s theme is Autumn’s Eve.  

4. Zelienople and Harmony Country Fall Festival

Zelienople and Harmony will hold the annual Country Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.

The event includes two days of live music, sidewalk sales, arts and crafts, horse-drawn buggy rides, children’s pony rides, a petting zoo, games, a 5K grandparents walk, a car cruise and much more.

There also will be homemade food, German dinners, a chili cook-off contest and a farmer’s market.

In addition, there are historic encampments and demonstrations, antiques and collectibles.

5. Sleepy Hollow in Harmony

Held in conjunction with the Fall Festival in Zelienople, the Sleepy Hollow Festival takes place from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Harmony.

The event includes music, activities for kids and adults, food, a paranormal gathering at Historic Harmony and more.
