Seneca Valley Schools Hire New Safety & Security Supervisor

The new supervisor already is familiar to district students and administrators.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA —The Seneca Valley School District has appointed Jackson Township police officer Jason Young as the district's new supervisor of safety and security. He replaces Jeff James, who recently named chief of the Robert Morris University Police Department in Moon.

Young has served as a school resource officer on the District’s secondary campus accommodating grades 7-12 for the past six. He has collaborated with administrators and teachers to develop crisis plans and provided a secure environment to students, staff and visitors on the Jackson Township secondary campus.

When school was not in session, he also served as a patrolman in Jackson.

Young also worked for eight years as a deputy sheriff for Butler County, where he taught drug abuse resistance education to fifth graders in several public and private schools.

Young also has served as a patrolman for the Saxonburg and Fawn police forces.
