CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — The Seneca Valley School District will vote next week on whether to eliminate all Native American imagery from its sports team logos.

The Butler Eagle reported the new policy currently is in draft form but will be finalized by Monday's meeting.

Several professional sports teams have taken or are taking similar steps. The Washington Redskins last year became the Washington Football Team while the franchise decides on a new nickname. The Cleveland Indians also are close to announcing a new nickname, according to numerous reports this week.
