Brookline Man Charged With Jewelry Theft
The city carpenter allegedly broke into a Brookline home.

BROOKLINE, PA - A Brookline man has been charged with stealing more than $7,000 in jewelry from a home at which he was assigned to board up windows and doors as a Pittsburgh public works employee.
John C. Minard, 41, of Crysler Street, was charged with felony theft, Triblive reported.
Minard, a city carpenter, was assigned in April to board up windows and doors at a Brookline Boulevard home that was reported as vacant but merely was unoccupied by the owner. He allegedly broke through the front door, took the jewelry and also attempted to steal about $150 in change, according to the criminal complaint.

The owner of the house returned as Minard was leaving, saw him attempting to take the change and confronted him, the criminal complaint stated.
Minard has been suspended from his job.
