Brookline Man Sentenced In Murder-For-Hire Scheme
Brad Lanese wanted someone to kill his cousin's wife.

BROOKLINE, PA - A Brookline man was sentenced to eight years in federal prison for attempting to arrange the contract killing of his cousin’s ex-wife.
U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon sentenced Brad Lanese, 52, after he pleaded guilty to trying to pay a hitman $30,000 to kill the unidentified woman. The murder-for-hire scheme was hatched after the woman and Lanese had a falling out over their California marijuana farm operation.
According to U.S. Attorney Scott Brady’s Office, Lanese asked an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration operative to inject the woman with a fatal heroin-fentanyl mix, then push her body and car over a cliff into the Pacific Ocean.
