Brookline Park, Rec Center Getting Nearly $250,000 In Upgrades
The projects are included in Pittsburgh's capital budget.

BROOKLINE, PA - City officials are preparing to give the neighborhood an early holiday gift. When Pittsburgh’s capital budget is approved next month, it’s expected to include nearly $250,000 in upgrades to Brookline Memorial Park and the Brookline Recreation Center.
The largest expenditure will be $120,000 to upgrade the lighting at the park. Another $50,000 will be spent to refinish the recreation center gym floor. The city will spend $48,000 on Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant bleachers for dek hockey at the park, and $20,000 will be spent to repair and paint the ballfield fence.
The park contains a large multi-purpose ballfield, two lighted baseball fields, a T-Ball field, an outdoor batting cage, picnic pavilion, children's playground, outdoor basketball court and a DEK Hockey rink, along with plenty of open green space.
