Brookline Teen Honored By Pittsburgh City Council
Tuesday was officially Nikko Poole Day in the city.

BROOKLINE, PA - In an honor usually bestowed for people far older, Tuesday was Nikko Pool Day in Pittsburgh, after city council approved a proclamation honoring the 15-year-old Brookline youth.
Councilman Anthony Coghill introduced the measure to honor the teen for the successful completion of his Eagle Scout project at the Brookline Teen Outreach Program. Nikko worked to conduct an art drive for the center’s teens and also repaired and repainted its restrooms.
Nikko, a Pittsburgh CAPA visual arts major, met all the requirements for the Eagle Scout rank at the age of 15, the youngest member of his troop to do so. He also was the first African-American to receive the rank of Eagle in his troop.

“I’d just like to say thank you for recognizing my hard work and the length of time it took,” Nikko told council members as he accepted the proclamation.
Nikko was accompanied to the meeting by his mother, CAPA principal Melissa Pearlman and teachers and classmates.
