Dormont Among Best Places To Live In Pennsylvania, Survey Says

A new analysis looks at the 50 best places to live in Pennsylvania. Find out here where Dormont is ranked.

DORMONT, PA - Where is the best place to live in Pennsylvania?

The website HomeSnacks set out to discover just that, recently ranking the 50 best places to
live in the Keystone State. Dormont was rated 20th.

"Dormont is a home to a diverse population including young professionals, working families, and retirees. Dormont's economic stability can be attributed to this diversity along with its close proximity to jobs inDowntown Pittsburgh, access to the T, diverse housing stock, and historically low crime rates," the HomeSnacks study stated. "Dormont is mixed use and urban and features a pedestrian friendly business district, with bars, coffeeshops, restaurants, and retail stores."

The website, which professionally ranks cities, counties, and states using various data, used an array of sources to come up with its list of best places to live in Pennsylvania for 2020.

HomeSnacks said it crunched numbers from new census data and FBI statistics. They also looked at home values, median income, crime rates, education, poverty and more, and rated each criteria.
Analysts then compiled the numbers to find the best places to live.

To come up with the list, each town in Pennsylvania was given a ranking on various factors from one to 170, with one being the best, HomeSnacks explained. "We then took the average rank across all criteria, with the city posting the lowest overall score being crowned the winner of the title 'Best Place To Live In Pennsylvania.'"
