These places are inexpensive but still get high marks for their food.

DORMONT, PA - With holiday credit card bills rolling in for most people, January is a month in which many folks try to live frugally. It’s generally not a time to treat yourself to gourmet dining, but you still need to eat.

1. Fredos Deli, 1451 Potomac Ave., Dormont
“There are so many great places to eat in Dormont, but Freidos continues to be my favorite,” one Yelpster wrote. “By far my favorite menu item is the steak, ranch, and french fry toasted sub. Amazing! I'm also a fan of the wraps.”

Raved this reviewer: “This place is constantly featured on Pittsburgh's Best lists and for good reason- you can't beat the authenticity and value of Las Palmas. Each taco is $2.50.”
3. Tom’s Diner, 2937 W. Liberty Ave., Dormont
“Breakfast of Titans: Three scrambled egg whites with fresh tomatoes and spinach, served with turkey sausage and loaded home fries...it was very filling, for less than $10.”

“For the price, this restaurant is well worth it for delivery, “ this reviewer wrote. “The promptness is superb, the food is great, and the portion sizes are very filling.”
5. Jamison’s, 3113 W. Liberty Ave., Dormont
Sound advice: Get bacon with whatever you order here. They have some high end, fresh made bacon that is next level. Wings, burgers, sandwiches, pretty much everything is good. A huge step above regular bar food.”
