Dormont Readies For Annual 5K Dash

DORMONT, PA - Prepare to lace up those running shoes. Saturday will bring the Dormont Dash, the annual 5K race that takes runners through a challenging, hilly tour of the borough.
The 5K, organized by the borough recreation board, begins and ends in Dormont Park and will take runners on Tolma, Dell, Raleigh, West Liberty and Glenmore avenues, Edgehill Street and Espy, Bellrose, Greenmont and Annapolis avenues.
There also will be a one-mile fun run that also begins and ends in the park and takes runners on Memorial Drive, Annapolis, Tolma, Dell and Dormont avenues.

The dash starts at 9 a.m. and the fun run begins at 10 a.m. You can register here for either event.
After the dash, an after party is planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dormont Pool parking lot. Runners are admitted for free, a $5 donation toward the Foster Love Project is suggested for others. Among the food trucks that will be on hand are Parrot Bay, Pittsburgh Hummus and PGH Crepes.
