Dormont Readies For Annual Dash

The 5K race will take runners through Dormont Park, along West Liberty Avenue and other borough streets.

DORMONT, PA - If Memorial Day is approaching, it’s time again for the Dormont Dash, the 5K race that takes runners through a challenging, hilly tour of the borough.

The 5K, organized by the borough recreation board, begins and ends in Dormont Park and will take runners on Tolma, Dell, Raleigh, West Liberty and Glenmore avenues, Edgehill Street and Espy, Bellrose, Greenmont and Annapolis avenues.

There also will be a one-mile fun run that also begins and ends in the park and takes runners on Memorial Drive, Annapolis, Tolma, Dell and Dormont avenues.

Registration for the 5K is $30 and $35 the day of the race. Fun run registration is $15. The top three finishers in each age group will receive a commemorative medal.

Proceeds from this race will be donated to Make-A-Wish, an organization that fulfills the wishes of children with diagnosed, life-threatening medical conditions.
