DORMONT, PA - July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day.

In Dormont, Independence Day fireworks will begin at dusk at Dormont Pool. But you can have hours of fun before that at the annual Dormont Day festivities.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Game booths, foot races, inflatable jumps, train rides, crafts, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Food Booths, 11 a.m. to dusk.
  • Bingo, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dormont Recreation Center.
  • Musical acts

School of Rock South Hills – 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Daniels & McClain – 12:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The Smeres – 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Evan Dean Band – 5:30pm to 7 p.m.

The Walkmen Band – 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

  • Grab bags distributed until 4 p.m. Purchase a $4.00 grab bag which includes goodies & chance to win a bicycle (Money from the purchase of grab bags helps defray the costs of the fireworks.) Grab Bag tickets can be purchased at the Dormont Borough Office, Dormont Pool and the Dormont Library.
