The Duck Dynasty----Still Here

            The Dynasty is back…….

The overriding controversy, Duck Dynasty’s patriarch, Phil Robertson, is the question of his speech, or should I say his freedom of speech.

                I am always amazed that if a comment is made against the so called correct establishment, and correct protocol set down by the powers of the world, then you and your comments are branded as “something evil”.  Also what is interesting is the notion of politically correct speech, which in and of itself is against the constitution and the very basis, foundation of the United States; remember the First Amendment. 

                The original intent was that you and I, average citizen, could make a comment against the government without any reprisals; that is, denouncing the government’s actions if needed.  But over time, certain liberal elements in the country forced into law the notion that if you say something against a person, group or …..(take your pick), you are then violating the supreme law of the land, or some other supreme law as designated by the ruling powers. 

                So, I really cannot say---“Hey, I don’t like you”---I will have law enforcement agencies (many agencies) coming after me; but is this the way America, the United States should be run??

                When the patriarch of Duck Dynasty was asked a question, “really set up for a fall”, he answered the questions the way he believed.  And, he was criticized, denounced, and tossed to the wolves.  His answers did not fall within the correct response, the acceptable response, of mainstream media and life in America. 

                If you look at history, this type of control is definitely reminiscent of a totalitarian state, a communist state, wherein people must adhere to the dictates of the all ruling.   

                In the case of Duck Dynasty, you the citizen, the American people, responded with a backlash against A&E Duck Dynasty’s network with such a strong disgust and anguish over what was done---the near cancellation of the program and the elimination of the patriarch that A&E can to bow to the American people. 

                With the Dynasty returning, maybe the ratings and interests may not be as high as before but at least the Dynasty took a position.  What about you?

                After all, freedom of speech is for everyone.  Isn’t it???
