Brookline Man Pleads Guilty To Cocaine Distribution Charges
The retired Pittsburgh firefighter faces decades in prison and a multimillion-dollar fine.

BROOKLINE, PA - A retired Pittsburgh firefighter faces up to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to cocaine trafficking charges. Walter John Amman III, 68, of Brookline, pleaded guilty to two counts before President U.S. District Mark Hornak.
According to U.S. Attorney Scott Brady’s office, Amman assisted a 77-year-old co-defendant with the processing, packing and distribution of the cocaine. Two controlled purchases of cocaine were made from Amman and the Drug Enforcement Administration and Pittsburgh police obtained search warrants for his residence.
Inside the home, authorities found firearms; prepackaged amounts of crack and cocaine in a jacket with Amman’s name on it; keys to a truck in the jacket; and, in the truck, approximately $1,000 and additional prepackaged cocaine.
